American indie-folk band Bon Iver are set to perform at the Mong Kok MacPherson Stadium on March 8th (Tues), 2016!
Fronted by singer-songwriter Justin Vernon, Bon Iver released their debut album For Emma, Forever Ago in 2007 to widespread critical acclaim, and won Best New Artist and Best Alternative Music Album at the 2012 Grammys with their sophomore album Bon Iver, Bon Iver.
Those that have managed to retain some degree of primary school level French will notice that Bon Iver is not unlike “bon hiver”, what the French would say if they ever wanted to tell someone it’s been a “good winter”. And while one would not exactly consider going through a break up and a bout of mononucleosis hepatitis a good winter, it was spending the winter months of 2006 at a cabin in Wisconsin, recovering from the aforementioned, that led to Vernon’s creation of For Emma, Forever Ago.
Bon Iver deliver intimate, soul stirring poetry through Vernon’s spine chilling falsetto, laid over tranquil melodies and rhythms, the perfect music to hibernate to.
Ticket sales will commence via Ticketflap at 9am, November 23rd (Mon), 2015, and are $590 (standard) or $690 (at the door).
