The Last Minute Hong Kong Halloween Party Guide 2015

Halloween is right around the corner! One should know that in a bustling city like Hong Kong, Halloween is an extravaganza of great wine, dine and events. While staying in for reruns of horror classics on TV like Silence of the Lambs (1991), Saw (2004) and The Ring (2002), or the usual Ocean Park and Disneyland haunted house shennanigans can be appealing, there is much more to life than that.

We compiled the ULTIMATE Halloween Guide in 2014, and we wanted to top that with an even larger list of things for you to do in 2015, so that you can fully experience one of the biggest festivals here in Hong Kong.

Fxck Cancer Block Party

3-7 pm, Shin Hing Street, Munchies Presents: Halloween Fxck Cancer Block Party, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

Known for handmade, GMO-free ice-cream, Munchies is organizing a Halloween Block Party for Movemeber and Breast Cancer charities to raise awareness for breast and prostate cancer. On the day, a variety of food and drinks vendors will be offering nibbles for just $50, including our favourite Mixing Bowl, Neo and Figaro, with performances from Sol Passion Music and live DJs. What better way to celebrate Halloween than with the spirit of giving?

Boqueria: Halloween Happy Hour Event

6-9pm, 7/F, LKF Tower, 33 Wyndham Street, Central

Known for delicious market-fresh tapas and fresh fruit sangria, Boqueria is organizing a Halloween Happy Hour event that offers free flow Estrella Beer and blood orange sangria from 6-9pm for HKD$308. Those who are up for dressing up can also enjoy a complimentary glass of blood orange Sangria upon arrival. Boqueria makes a good pit stop to kick off your Halloween bar crawl, as it is just an elevator ride away from the infamous LKF!

Mahalo: Black Magic VOODOO – Halloween Party

8pm-4am, 29/F QRE Plaza, 202 Queens Road East, Wanchai, Hong Kong

If the usual LKF thing is not for you, then I would recommend checking out the retro tiki lounge, Mahalo (the Wan Chai sister bar of Wellington Street’s Honi Honi). Situated at the top of QRE plaza and with 80s inspired tropical jungle decor, you can easily immerse yourself in a chill and artsy atmosphere. They’re doing a Black Magic Voodoo Halloween party this year for HKD$ 265 (includes one drink), which will features an evening of dance (DJ Pablo Valentino, international DJ), black magic performances and more!

1130pm-late, Club Cubic, City of Dreams

If you’re sitting on your bum at the moment, thinking “damn, I’m missing out on all the Halloween fun in Hong Kong”, think again. Club Cubic, or, according to the official party line, the remains of a lab after a military funded chemical experiment gone wrong in 1890, will be opening up for a thrill of a night. Admission is $350 (includes 1 drink), but ladies will get FREE admission if they go in costume before 1 am!
